New MAC Collection

I was just at Nordstrom today and saw the new Smoke Signals collection. The smoky eye look comes in a cool pallette with blues, black, and grey, and a warm one with deep burgundy and browns. There were some really pretty eyeliners and new pigments, too. Here are some pics.

Always apply a highlight shade under the eyebrow and in the tear duct area. This creates at an open, bright-eyed look. Younger women can choose shadows or creams with shimmer; older women should stick with sheer, matte colors like vanilla. Highlight shades include: light pink, white, vanilla, gold, iridescent, and champagne.

Carmidy

For those of you who watch my FAVORITE show... TLC's What Not to Wear, you know who I'm talking about. I want to make a tribute to Carmindy because I think she is so amazing! She makes applying makeup make sense. She can transform a woman in minutes, but the best part is, that woman can actually go home and re-create the look! She has a book out called the Five Minute Face, and I would totally recommend going out and getting it TODAY. Also, you can visit www.carmindy.com for some great tips as well.

How should I do my hair today?

HAIR from Allure magazine
Soft, broken waves look cool and carefree.
Blow-dry hair using your fingers. Then, select random sections and wrap around a medium-barrel curling iron, release, and tousle.

Forget shabby. These chignons are simply chic. (And that doesn't mean overdone.)
Apply texturizing cream before blowing hair out. Follow with a flatiron to make ends extra-straight. Then, gather hair into a low ponytail using a brush—and then your fingers—to create subtle grooves in your hair. Secure with an elastic band, and twist the ponytail until it loops up around itself. Secure your chignon with another elastic, but leave the ends loose and slightly fanned out.

fav mascara

It just can't be beat! Maybelline Great Lash mascara is always geeting reader's choice awards in the magazine polls. I use it daily! If you have a bigger budget, Lancome is a great pick, too!

awesome exfoliating mask

For those of you who love to exfoliate, (and those of you who don't), try this mask from Arbonne. It retails for $32.00 and is worth every penny. (Your face will thank you) If you aren't an arbonne consultant already, I can help you!

Brond...

So, the other day one of my clients pointed out to me in Glamour that the celebs are coloring their hair a new shade. It's called Brond. A mix between blond and brunette. I guess it's a natural look, but i don't love it. If you have nice golden skin I think it could work for you. But it's too boring for me. Sorry! Check it out on Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Biel.

Fall makeup

According to MAC cosmetics, some looks for the fall include:
Dark eyeliner
Defined brows
Matte skin

(Just don't do the stark white, matte face, and super dark eyeliner, goth look)

OK! Can we just talk about the new OPI nail color collection?

Oh my gosh! I think this is my most favorite ever! The new Russian collection just came out and I love it! The same jewel tones are seen here on nails, too. I am sooo glad this trend is here to stay. (for now, atleast) My favorite color is Russian Navy. Who would have thought? Navy nails! It looks fabulous!

What's new for fall?

Have you noticed how big animal prints are right now??? Well, I have. That's why I ordered these adorable shoes. The little ones are Kenneth Cole Reaction for Kate from Zappos.com, and I got a pair from Nordstrom. They are Steven by Steve Madden.

Also, jewel tones are really in for the fall. Think of you favorite and look for a shirt in that color. rubies, sapphires, amethyst, emerald, garnet... gorgeous!
All of the tops shown here can be purchased at Nordstrom.
